The Esther Call And Her Momma…

Good morning beautiful people. This morning I sit at my dining room table a long time reflecting on my journey as a mother. I have now entered into the next season of my life as a grandmother. I love the grand before it. The journey of being a mother has brought me on my knees before a mighty God many times as I searched the Holy Scriptures for peace from this once fearful woman. I now have obtained some much-needed wisdom to impart.
I reflect back over the years and see the many activities we have done together as mother and daughters. I reflect on my strengths, my short comings and even my failures. Oh, the joy of reflections, we all can have them.
I reflect back on my own mother. The picture I found from when I was seven years of age working in the harvest field. She penned on the back of that portrait. Ange 7. Mama’s baby, tomorrow I’ll be your doll, I hear that yet. Her cursive writing makes me ponder what my momma was thinking the day she wrote on the back of that picture. Why did she keep hearing that over and over in her mind, I inquire of God Himself for an answer? My brown potato picker gloves and rubber boots challenge me to try to remember those days in the harvest field.
My portrait of my mom wearing her blue glitzy dress and white gloves makes me feel happy inside from my brother’s wedding. My mom’s life was anything but glitzy. I am blessed this morning to know my mother had precious moments in which she was dressed like a queen. For it was from her womb, I received my Esther call. I will be forever grateful she chose to give me life.
I have learned to celebrate life every day. We can’t go back and re-live yesterday, it’s totally gone. We can focus on today and enjoy what God has given us.
Today, choose to be thankful for life. Thank Him for your mother and father and honor them. For God’s Word tells us in Ephesians 6:2-3 Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.
May the God of Harvest bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. (Numbers 6: 24-26) Amen

Have a blessed day beautiful people. Happy Mother’s Day 2018.
