“The earth will be completely laid waste and completely despoiled, for the Lord has spoken this word. The earth mourns and withers, the world fades and withers, the exalted of the people of the earth fade away. The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, broke the everlasting covenant. Therefore, a curse devours the earth, and those who live in it are held guilty. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left” Isaiah 24:3-6

Approximately 10,000 Palestinians showed up for last Friday’s riots at several points along the border between the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip and Israel, with one particularly violent demonstration at the Kerem Shalom crossing resulting in infrastructure meant to bring humanitarian aid into the Strip being severely damaged. “This is a cynical act which damages the well-being of the people of Gaza and the humanitarian efforts carried out by Israel and other countries,” the IDF spokesperson stated.

Israeli Start to Giro D’Italia Race a Huge Success

Pressure applied by Christian evangelical organizations played a significant, if not decisive, role in U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel and to transfer the U.S. embassy to the city. A key personality in this episode is Vice President Mike Pence, who has described himself more than once as a “Christian, Conservative, and Republican – in that order.”

Daily reporting and analysis of current events from a biblical and prophetic perspective
Reversal of a disastrous prophetic move
NOTEWhen writing about God and Jesus, The Daily Jot means YHVH as God and Yeshua Ha Mashiach as Jesus–the actual original names and the true nature and character of them.
Tuesday, May 8, 2018
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the previous US “president’s” nuclear deal with Iran would enable the terrorist-sponsoring nation to finish building nuclear weapons. Last week, he continued to urge the current US President to scrap the deal by showing proof that Iran was continuing to develop its nuclear weapons program. President Donald Trump is now expected to pull out, while the so-called experts are playing their usual foreign policy scare card warning that breaking the Iran deal could cause a war. Let’s remember that this terrible deal unleashed some $100 billion in sanction money to the terrorist state that arrived in cash on pallets AND will allow Iran to develop nukes in 10 years.
In 2015, the previous US “president” effectively cleared the way for billions of dollars to be pumped into Iran in reward for agreeing to delay its nuclear program for at least ten years. Also, The Times of Israel reported US officials confirmed that Iran was not forbidden to test ballistic missiles under the nuclear deal. Many analysts believed at the time that Iran would use the time and money to accelerate nuclear development. It was widely reported that Iran tested ballistic missiles in March 2016, including two with the words “Israel must be wiped off the earth” emblazoned on them. The missile tests were evidence that the White House narrative was deathly wrong.
The Lord says in Zechariah 12:3, “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” At the time, many found it hard to imagine how, for example, the United States would be gathered prophetically against Israel. The US had supported Israel since it became a nation. The previous “president” reversed this backing across the board by supporting the traditional enemies of God through the Arab Spring rebellions, the Iran nuclear deal, and much more. Left intact, his foreign policy may have had catastrophic consequences for America and its citizens.
This is why leadership is so important. The current White House is bringing America back into alignment with Israel. By ending the Iran nuclear deal, Trump may reverse the disastrous prophetic implications of his predecessor. It is important that America do the right thing in the eyes of God. Jesus says in Matthew 25 that when the Son of Man comes in his glory, he will separate the nations like a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats-the goats on the left and sheep on the right. Verse 34 says, “Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you form the foundation of the world.” While our personal salvation is most important, so also are the leaders we choose.

Ghana: Food + Water = Transformation for the poor

A water truck being loaded with water from our water system for needy households
By Pastor William Agbeti
[NOTE: This is an account of just one of many clean water, feeding and clothing programs conducted by The Daily Jot and our ministry partner Redeem West Africa in the rural areas of Ghana, West Africa. Your donations that make this possible–Blessings, Bill W]
A young African mother, holding a plastic bucket in hand, set off this morning on a 5-minutes walk from her little makeshift home to the Redeemer House, with the hope of fetching water.
On arrival, she was told the water system had developed a fault and was being fixed, and would not be ready until probably the next day. Her countenance changed all of a sudden. The joy with which she came, singing all the way, dissipated. Hope was gone. She didn’t know what to do. There was no other place within a short distance to go fetch water. Being poor, buying sachets of water for her household chores was obviously out of the question. She left with sadness written all over her face.
Undoubtedly, lack of clean water would bring along in its trail various forms of water-related stresses for this young mother and her family; not to mention water related diseases and possible deaths over the long term. The family may have to do without cooking of meals, washing of clothes and utensils today. The stress increases when one has to go to town, school or work, without showering in this 100 degrees-plus weather, with high humidity.
The same goes for food  – the types of stress the poor deal with when there is no food on the table or in the stomach is unimaginable. A case in point is that of another young mother and her little child of six who came to our free feeding program last month.  Both were hungry and desperate for food. As two disposable bowls of cooked food were handed over to them, the mother set one side and ferociously started eating the other with the child, completely oblivious to onlookers. In this part of the world, like elsewhere, hunger and inability to obtain food can create a vicious cycle of stress for many.
Children line up to fetch free clean water from our ministry faucet
The situation leads to child labor, child trafficking, juvenile delinquency, child prostitution, child sales, and various other heart-rending conditions. In Ghana, many parents are reported to have sold their children for less than $5 each, in order to put food on the table!  Reports reach us from various other poor communities about very young school girls selling their bodies in prostitution for as low as $1 per swing!
In the light of the above and others, we at Redeemer MINISTRIES have come to learn the hard way that Food + Water = Transformation.
“The little food and water we regularly give out to the needy go a long way to help transform individuals and whole communities. Our water project at Amrahia in a rural section of Accra, and our monthly feeding programs deep inside rural areas, bring about hope, change and inspiration to many; even if it’s for a day!”–Pastor William Agbeti

Some children waiting to be served with free meals at one of our feeding programs.
Without these little efforts, the situation could be much worse, with a spill out that could easily affect individuals, families and communities all the way in the US, for instance, through illegal immigration, refugee crisis and human trafficking.
Therefore, anytime you donate towards the provision of food and water to the poor rural folks in Ghana, know that you may be doing it for yourselves – for your own good.
