Possession of small amounts of marijuana will no longer be a criminal offense in  Albuquerque. Mayor Tim Keller signed legislation amending the city’s criminal code, making low-level pot possession of an ounce  a citable offense. Instead of jail time and a criminal penalty fee, police would issue a $25 ticket.

  1. It is indeed sad to see this action by Mayor Tim Keller. The start of drug dependence starts with “Small Amounts”. Once we allow this, the next step will be full legalization following Colorado’s lead. Because marijuana is relatively inexpensive, the drug will end up in the hands of youngsters. This drup opens the door to hell itself, as it leads to stronger and more lethal drugs. We will rue the day that this has been legislated.
