“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim 2:1-2).
“For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil” (Rom 13:3-4).
Let us pray this for the President, Vice-President, Cabinet members, Senators, Congressmen, and for all those in authority.
Father, I first present to You with gratitude, the men You have appointed as our President and Vice President, Mr. Trump and Mr. Pence, asking You to provide the maximum protection over each one and their families. I ask not only that You provide, but that they would stand firmly, in Your wisdom for leadership. I seek that You might foster an attitude throughout our government leaders to work harmoniously to do what is right for the common good of the people of this nation. Cause Your Spirit to woo all in the government structure to follow Your Word in making and enacting laws of the land. Forgive our sins, which are legion in numbers and descriptions, for the sake of Your dear Son, Jesus. Restore in the sickened hearts of Americans, the right to live life, from conception to the grave, without fear, racism, and all forms of disharmony. My LORD, enact a miracle in Washington DC, igniting a Spiritual Awakening across this continent to the saving of millions of souls, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
