Morning Inspiration with Pastor Steve Stucker: Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. 1 John 2:15

This is not to say we shouldn’t love God’s creations, such as people, animals, & nature. It’s a dire warning not to fall into the traps of what we ‘think’ we need in this life. Lusting after people, places & positions in this world brings terrible results. Coveting what others seem to have, instead of being grateful for what we’ve already been given, is a recipe for misery. Our self pride, is always unjustified! Anything we believe we’ve achieved, would be impossible without God’s blessing & favor. Before you rush out the door, looking to acquire more & more & more…take the time to pray to Jesus, asking Him what you are here on this earth for.
