Pray America – Pray Church – Pray On!

Why do I encourage Christians to pray for America?   Well, first of all it is a selfless, loving thing to do, and there are more important things in life than merely our own self interests.  America has come to be a country that cares and helps the many nations of the world.  Much of the world admires what we represent: freedom, which our Constitution guarantees, and with that freedom the ability to pursue life, liberty, and happiness having the choice of educational and career pursuits.   We have built and fought for a way of life that makes us uniquely American, and we realize we are a part of something greater then ourselves.   In spite of our many differences, what we are binds us together as Americans, in states, counties, cities, communities, and even churches.  Who we are is important enough to pray for the LORD to protect and even rescue when necessary.   And, it is very necessary at this time.  So, I encourage all our American Christian churches to boldly pray, because the American church was the backbone of America’s birthing.

But then, there is a much bigger need for our fellow American citizens.   We must have a great outpouring of God’s Spirit to revive His church and to also enlarge His church by drawing millions to repentance unto salvation.  So we pray!

“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin Is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).

Righteous and Holy Father, Almighty God, will You please return a righteous spirit to the United States of America, as this is what she needs most of all – a righteous people who are not ashamed to once again say, In God We Trust!  LORD, draw us ever stronger to seek Your righteousness and Your Kingdom.  What I am asking; what I desire, is for all of our people to reach out and receive the free gift of righteousness through the salvation You have promised to all who accept Jesus Christ as their LORD.

Dear Jesus, by Your Spirit, send revival to America.  It is not Your will that any would perish, but that all might come to a knowledge of Your saving grace.  America is broken, internally by the divisions of hate, and physically and materially by the many natural disasters we have faced of late.   As Jesus was raised up from the dead by Your glorious power, may You raise up this nation to walk in newness of life.  I thank You that You still save all who come to You in faith; You still hear all who cry out to You.  Awaken our people to call to You, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
