A Divided America Will Not Stand: Anyone Paying Attention to The Latest Church Shootings?

America is showing so much hate for each other, a nation divided will not stand and we are proving that. So many act like Jesus will not return. So much rage on Facebook, does it change anything, no. JESUS is the only one that can change this awful heart condition. Puerto Rico has been destroyed, much of Texas and Florida have been hit so hard from Hurricanes, Mexico has suffered devastation from earthquakes. Other places have been almost destroyed by hurricanes. The real threat of nuclear war with North Korea is ongoing. But America continues to be torn apart by HATE! Its like we move from one hateful argument to the next in seconds, and don’t take time to mourn what has and is happening around us.

The behavior of America has become a huge frustration and disappointment for me.

As one veteran Pastor here in New Mexico told me today, “We are a divided nation, it is really scary”

Right means wrong to many and wrong means right to many.

You can tell some that the sky is clear and they will swear it is dark.

In my 61 years I have never seen America in such bad shape. We are failing, is there hope? YES! HOPE IN JESUS AND NOTHING ELSE!

We do not take time for REAL PRAYER AND REVIVAL. Facebook posts are also diving this nation. I am thankful for Pastors like Caleb Cooper here in New Mexico who has made REVIVAL his mission and there are many others! PTL!

The famed British Evangelist Gipsy Smith used to ask his audience, “Do you really want to see a revival begin?” When the people said yes, Gipsy replied, “Then go back to your home and draw a circle around you on the floor. Then get down on your knees in the middle of the circle and ask God to convert everybody inside that circle. When you do that, and God answers, you are experiencing the start of revival.”

Pastor Keion Henderson – You may have been born looking like your daddy but you’ll die looking like your decisions.

We have kids and a grandchild, with one due in November. I am very concerned as to the world they have been given, it is a very hateful world.

Why is America full of evil?

“So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts” Eph 4: 17, 18.

The Scriptures call the mind of the natural man “blinded” 2 Cor. 4:4, “depraved” Romans 1:28, “corrupt” 1 Tim. 6:5, and “unspiritual” Col. 2:18. The natural mind thinks from a humanistic, sin-debased viewpoint. The viewpoint of the flesh directs its thoughts. The sinful mind is under the control of Satan and can never please God because it concentrates on things of the world and not things of the Spirit. The natural mind walks the road of hopelessness and self-destruction.

American can be saved with hearts given to Jesus rather than Satan.

A man charged in a mass shooting at a Tennessee church expressed suicidal thoughts in June and had a volatile relationship with a woman that twice involved law enforcement intervention this year, according to police records.

Emanuel Kidega Samson, 25, is charged with the fatal shooting of one woman and is expected to face several more charges following the rampage that left six others wounded on Sunday.

Dallas Cowboys kneel, then stand for anthem
Dr. Jim Denison | September 26, 2017
“The Star-Spangled Banner” made headlines again last night. The Dallas Cowboys knelt at midfield, then walked to the sideline and stood for the national anthem. The Arizona Cardinals stood for the anthem as well, locked arm in arm.The controversy over the national anthem and racism isn’t going away.

In yesterday’s Daily Article, I stated that if I were a player in the NFL, I would stand during the playing of the anthem. Then I would use my personal platform to cast a light on racial injustice in our country and seek practical solutions.

I am not in the NFL, of course, but I do have this platform. So, I’ll use today’s Daily Article to spotlight racism in our culture and identify biblical responses.

Let’s begin with the criminal justice system. African American defendants receive longer sentences than white defendants for the same crimes under identical circumstances. Innocent black people are about seven times more likely to be convicted of murder than innocent white people.

A black prisoner serving time for sexual assault is three and a half times more likely to be innocent than a white sexual assault convict. He is also likely to receive a much longer prison sentence.

In one study, African American males were twice as likely to be stopped by police in cars or on foot. Another study showed racial disparities in traffic stops during the day, when the race of the driver can be seen, but not at night.

There’s good news as well: According to the FBI, racially and ethnically motivated hate crimes fell by nearly 50 percent between 1994 and 2015. Only 4 percent of Americans approved of interracial marriage in 1959; 87 percent approve today. However, racial discrimination still exists in hiring practiceseducationmedia bias, and movies and television.

What does God think of racism?

He created every human “in his own image” (Genesis 1:27), regardless of ethnicity. In fact, there’s only one “race”—the human race. God’s Son died for each of us (2 Corinthians 5:15) and longs for each of us to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4).

In heaven, we will gather with a great multitude “from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages” (Revelation 7:9). In Christ, “there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free” (Galatians 3:28). In God’s mind, “there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all” (Romans 10:12).

That’s why we are taught, “Do not judge by appearances” (John 7:24) since “God shows no partiality” (Romans 2:11). We are warned, “If you show partiality, you are committing a sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors” (James 2:9). Scripture is blunt: “Whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness” (1 John 2:11).

Racial discrimination is a sin that grieves the heart of God.

St. Augustine: “Since love grows within you, so beauty grows. For love is the beauty of the soul.” How beautiful is your soul today?

From our Dear Friend Mercy Alarid of Passion Church in Albuquerque:

We are so good at focusing on specks and ignoring planks….

We make a big deal about inappropriate kneeling and minimize the injustice that prompted the protests in the first place.

We are adamant about honoring the flag but have no problem with a public servant dishonoring people protected by the Stars and Stripes.

We roll our eyes at those who insist we stand when the national anthem is played as if their patriotism makes them racists. Meanwhile, we do nothing of substance ourselves to change the reality of inequality in this country.

It is time to stop arguing about knees and anthems and deal with the pettiness, racism and apathy in our own hearts. Only then will we see clearly that unity in what matters solves more problems than arguments over trivialities.
