Dewey —

Your prayers make all the difference in the world; not only yesterday morning as the gun shots were soaring at the Congressional baseball practice, but now as we continue to pray for the full recovery of Congressman Scalise and Matt Mika.

We are extremely thankful for the actions of the Capitol police, and to God for the many answered prayers for protection. Three of the five injured are recovering well, two continue to need medical attention for serious injuries.

Update on Congressman Scalise and Matt Mika. Please keep these men and their families in prayer.

  • Congressman Steve Scalise was shot in the hip. He has undergone a second surgery to stop further bleeding and will undergo more surgeries to repair bones and organs. He is still in critical condition.
  • Matt is stable and fully responsive, and will be having another surgery on Monday. Bullets missed his heart and just grazed his lung, hitting his wrist. The lung may heal on its own.

In case you missed it, here is the video of Senator Lankford praying from the Senate floor yesterday.

Finally, join us in praying Psalm 91 over our nation and leaders regularly, as well as over the Nationals Stadium where the Congressional charity baseball game will take place tonight.

In Faith,

Summer Ingram
National Director of Prayer and Mobilization

P.S. If you haven’t already, please start a 219 Prayer group and sign up to join the CPCF Prayer Team. Encourage your family and friends to join as well! Let’s do all we can to ensure these types of tragedies never occur again.
