It flies high, yet has no wings, it’s message loud and clear.
Bless those who still salute it. True Americans hold it dear.
Through many battles, wars and strife, it stood when others fell.
Though battle-torn and badly worn, what stories it could tell.
The blood of those who gave their all, have soaked into its stripes.
With hardiness and much valor, true heroes gave their lives.
Their vigilence and perseverance is represented by its blue.
It also stands for justice, and freedom for me and you.
Its white stands for purity, the color worn by brides.
No stain of shame shall touch its face, or else in vain they’ve died.
Some have tread on it in protest, or sent it up in flames….
We’ll never let it touch the ground. OLD GLORY is its name!
