Trump Departs Israel After Historic Visit

US President Donald Trump departed Israel on Tuesday afternoon following an eventful 28 hour visit. Throughout his many stops and statements, key talking points emerged including supporting Israel against the threats from Iran and jihadi terror militias, as well as his keenness to oversee the resumption of negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.

Hamas Accuses Trump of Unfair Smear

The Islamist terror militia Hamas issued a statement on Monday complaining that US President Donald Trump had “smeared” it by referring to it as an “Islamic terror” organization in his speech before Moslem leaders in Riyad Saudi Arabia the day before, along with Hezbollah, the Islamic State and Al Qaeda. Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhum said this part of Trump’s speech was “aimed at besmirching the reputation of the Palestinian resistance” adding that Hamas would not accept being treated as a terrorist organization.

Israel Blesses the world

Researchers at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, announced this week that they have developed a new therapy to assist people in preventing heart failure and related health issues by using a biomedical polymer to reduce arterial plaque and cardiovascular inflammation. The treatment is in the advanced development stage and will soon be available to consumers. “We believe that this therapy has the potential to help a great number of people,” said a senior BGU official.

Sara Netanyahu and Melania Trump Visit Hospital

The First Ladies of the US and Israel, Melania Trump and Sarah Netanyahu, paid a visit to the children’s section of Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem’s Ein Kerem on Monday, bringing gifts and cheer for the children, who included both Jews and Arabs. The women also met with senior hospital staff and Hadassah Women’s Zionist Organization of America national president Ellen Hershkin.

Iranian Municipal Elections Sweep In Rohani Allies

Following last Friday’s re-election of relatively moderate President Hassan Rouhani, political allies of his won elections in municipal elections across the Islamic Republic on Monday. “The people have voted and put their trust in the reformists after many years,” said Zahra Nejadbahram, one of six women elected to the Tehran city council.
