I got this from my Dear Friend of many years Louis Cannavale, who is also a leader at Paradise Hills Methodist Church in Albuquerque.

I firmly believe that falling away from scriptural truth will be and is our ultimate downfall.

AS FOR ME & MY HOUSE WE SERVE THE LORD

Another denomination makes its descent “official” …

Here’s a quote from the article:

The report [of this denomination’s proceedings] acknowledged that “conservative arguments” are based on the Bible’s recognition of sexual immorality, including same-sex acts, as sinful.

But it justified its decision on the grounds that “scriptural condemnations of same-sex sexual activity were framed in cultural contexts very different from our own”.

Here’s my opinion:

Since God does not change, it must be that human beings , deceived by “the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life” (1 John 2:16), have changed the cultural contexts … and moved away from godliness …

Since God does not change, it could be that we human beings could repent and move back toward God and His holiness …

I John 1: 9 is available to us individually.  I believe it can apply to us as congregations and as denominations as well.

If Jesus is building his church in such a way that the gates of hell will not prevail against it, we should be very careful regarding on which side we choose to be …
