Let us go back into Matthew 5:1-12….please turn to verse 8….Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. This one should stop us all in our tracks! AMEN! This verse demands that we conduct a self-examination of our hearts and lives. The Greek word for “pure” is KATHAROS. It was often used to refer to clothes that had been washed clean (purified). It was also used to describe wheat after it was sifted and had all the impurities removed. (it was considered purified or clean) It means: unmixed, unadulterated, clean, pure…Verse 8 could be interpreted to say: Blessed is the one who has pure motives and a clean heart……..
