A federal judge in New York has issued an emergency stay halting the removal of individuals detained after President Trump’s order banned immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S.
The ACLU said the order affects those with valid visas being held at airports. It follows confusion and detentions at airports after President Trump suspended refugees from Syria and ordering restrictions on those entering the U.S. from six other predominantly Muslim nations.
