Do you ever feel like you don’t measure up? You look at what other people have or what they are doing and you feel less than them.
In the comparison game, you will always find people who have more than you, or less than you. Ones who achieve more than you, or less. Ones who do more than you, or less.
We are all different people. There is no way to fairly compare ourselves when we don’t start off on equal ground.
Comparison steals our joy when we compare ourselves to others instead of enjoying the blessings we have.
The good news is God has placed so much value on our lives, He was willing to pay an exorbitant price for each one of us. The same price for each of us. The cost of His one and only Son’s life.
No matter what we’ve done or haven’t done, even if we’re all cleaned up on the outside and broken on the inside, God’s word doesn’t change. The price He paid and our value doesn’t change.
He continually speaks these truths to our hearts.
8 truths from God’s heart to yours:
- He loves you.
- He is for you.
- He believes in you.
- You are His child.
- He is your friend.
- You are not alone.
- He has a purpose and a plan for you. A good plan.
- We will get through it together.
We find security, eternal security, in our Christ-bought identity.
Practice gratitude. Count your blessings.
What can you choose today to show gratitude for?
