What’s in Your Book?

Psalm 139:16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. <NLT>

Ron and I were talking about the Lord’s plans and our parts in them. I told him about a friend, whose husband had been going to Bible College and heard the Lord say he was to be a Youth Pastor. He was on board, on fire, and excited about it…..until he took his turn preaching at the school. As soon as he was finished, some of the Pharisees…..uh, professors, came up to him and told him that he did a terrible job. They told him he had to follow their rules and preach from script….also theirs. Understandably, he was crushed. He had looked up to these guys. He left Bible College and opened a lighting center.

I read somewhere that Chris Tomlin had been told he didn’t have a good voice and it would take him nowhere. Chris followed the path laid out for him despite the naysayers, and he is one of the most amazing worship leaders I know!

Your book doesn’t look like mine, nor mine like yours, with the exception of expressing our Holy Father’s love.

He has given each of us gifts and talents in all areas and walks of life. What is He telling you? What’s in your book? How do you express His love?

One of my love ministries is crocheting things and giving them to people. I pray for them as I make them. I was told that it was not a ministry. I fought the “yes it is”/”no it isn’t” battle in my head for a long time. Then along came a beautiful baby named Audrey. I made her a black and white zebra pattern blanket with a hot pink rose and trim. As I crocheted, I prayed she would feel Abba’s love and comfort every time she touched that blanket, and that she would come to know Him as her all in all…. Her mom told me it is her very favorite possession in the whole world and she won’t go to sleep without it! That ended the head battle for me!

What has He told you? Have others come along and squashed what He has told you? I want to encourage you to ask Him….today, now, what it is He has planned for you. Once you know, this is what He wants you to do:

“Believe what I say and don’t be swayed. Stay on course as I lead you into life abundant….a life of love, service, and expressing Me.”

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” <NLT>

Abba, thank You loving us and living in us as us. Thank You for the many, many ways You express Your love through us……touching others in ways only You know. Help us to encourage others to stay on the course You have planned for them. Praise You, Abba. You are amazingly wonderful! Amen!
