Update on my brother-in-law Sgt. Allen Brandt (AllenandNatasha Brandt) as of 12 pm, Oct 17 (EDT): Praise God! Allen is able to walk with help. Doctors cleaned, applied ointment and bandaged his eye. They are waiting for the shrapnel to get to the surface of the left eye, so they can remove it. They don’t think they will have to remove the eye, so that is a praise. They are hopeful some sight might be regained but don’t have enough information at this point. He may be discharged to go home in the next day or so.

Terrible that this man was shot. Hopefully justice is served and the legislature will make moves to protecting our officers more. With our Troopers dying 2 years ago, hopefully we can get the community to protect and respect our police force rather then try to take them out.
