Israel Aircraft in Retaliatory Strikes on Syrian Mortar Crew

Israeli warplanes hit the source of a mortar shell which was fired into Israel from Syrian territory Monday night. The IDF issued a statement that the shell was not fired into Israel intentionally, but forces on the border remained on high alert Tuesday morning. The incident occurred hours after senior officials from Russia announced an agreement to cooperate more closely in military effort in Syria against terror militias there.
