Muhammad Ali and the Greatest Fight of All

Former 2 time heavyweight champion boxer of the world, Mumammad Ali passed away on Friday June 3rd just a day before the anniversary of his Ali summit where he announced that he would refuse the draft for religious reasons, namely that Islam would not allow him to fight an unjust war.

The date was June 4th, 1967 and was also interestingly enough the beginning of the six days war in Israel were the surrounding Muslim nations were attacking the young Jewish state to drive them from the land and it was also, by the way, the day I was born.

The dates of events in history are interesting to me because of cyclical flow we find in them. Many events have occurred on the same calendar date and I believe this is important. Did you know that the first and second temples in Jerusalem were destroyed on the same day on the Hebrew calendar, the 9th of Av?

Knowing that Muhammad Ali was making a stand for Islam on the same day that Israel was fighting for its very right to exist brings into stark contrast the greatest fight of all, the fight for the souls of man.

I have great respect for Muhammad Ali’s fight the right to believe what he did and for the amazing athlete that he was, after all he was the first man to regain the heavyweight title of the world, but his fight was in vain.

Let’s set aside the statements of Christianity being a white man’s religion because Jesus is not white, but as a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I believe that Islam is the religion of the anti-Christ and idol worship.

Google the “stone of Islam” and you will discover that there is a black meteor at the heart of Mecca that is what Muslims bow and pray to, it is what they try to touch when they make their required trip to Mecca, it is the same type of rock that was worshiped for the false gods and goddesses in Rome and Greece and even in the days of Nimrod.

The false god of Islam is nothing more than just another rock found in the dessert that people were wowed enough to bow down and worship, even though it is an inanimate object that can neither see or hear, this is who Cassius Clay gave up his title for?

I want to be clear that I do not want to sully the name of Muhammad Ali, but rather lift up the name of Jesus Christ, the name that is above every name. The false god of Islam is a dead thing that is not worthy of mention and everyone who dies for that name gives up his or her life in vain.

But Jesus, who gave up His life for ours, has been raised from the dead to be alive forevermore and He will raise us up also.

I would also like to point out that Cassius Clay was raised in a Baptist church and while I have no idea what was taught in that church in his day, we must be aware of the doctrine, the beliefs that our children and grand children have and hold. Do they have a saving faith and a faith built on sound doctrine that will endure the challenges of this world?

I pray that they do and that we would challenge what they think they believe now so that they may stand in the day others not so friendly challenge them. Go now and ask them about what they believe and why, go on do it.
