As most of us set our clocks forward this weekend let’s always remember that Life is Short on this earth compared to eternity! This title speaks for itself, my friend‘s father passed away a few years ago, and he had peace in knowing that his father was saved and as I write this we know he is definitely with the Lord. Time was not wasted with this awesome man of God because he had the opportunity to get to know Jesus. I am not sure how long he was saved but the neat part is it doesn’t matter because he confessed with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and repented of his sins and began to follow Christ. That’s awesome! In fact my friend was at peace months ago when his father had a close call because after his hospital appointments he told him that he knew where he was going when he died. Having that confidence is a blessing not only for that saved individual but also for the family and friends around them.
God’s Word says in Romans 10:9-10:
9 if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” (New Living Translation)
I am admitting right now for me personally I have dropped the ball a few times when I could have been sharing the Word; or when someone has come to know the Lord and I have not followed up with them or come alongside them to help with their next steps. I am sure some of you have had the same experiences, but we can change that starting right now.
I want to encourage you all to not let an opportunity get away from you. Life is too short, the Time is Now, ask our Heavenly Father for guidance, wisdom and courage to reach someone and watch what happens. It may be a complete stranger, a family member or even a friend; just take that leap of faith and watch how God uses you! I will also do the same.
