They often publish all the minimum qualifications the person they are seeking must have. Sometimes, they will even share what their budget will allow for a salary package. Searching churches must never ask: “What kind of person do we want as pastor?” Or “What kind of person can we afford?” The only right question is: “LORD, who do You want to be our pastor?”
I weep because when you ask God who He wants in the position, He does not give qualifications, and financial parameters, He simply points out the person He has already selected.
