Trump wins New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Donald Trump romped over a fractured field of Republican presidential candidates at the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday, securing a critical first win for the political novice.

Trump entered Tuesday the heavy favorite, but he badly needed to prove he could turn the energy surrounding his campaign into hard votes and a victory.

The billionaire businessman didn’t take anything for granted, plunging into the retail-style politics he’s largely dismissed, and deploying his celebrity family members across the state on Tuesday to stake out polling precincts and local businesses.

Sanders defeats Clinton in New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Bernie Sanders has defeated Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary in New Hampshire.

Sanders’s victory further legitimizes his long-shot challenge against Clinton, who led here by 40 points before the fringe independent senator and avowed democratic socialist came out of nowhere to galvanize the progressive base.

The Clinton campaign has buffered itself against the prospect of losing New Hampshire, arguing that Sanders, who hails from neighboring Vermont, was the home-town favorite and always expected to win.
