NM Democrats and Their Comparison of Driver’s Licenses for Illegal Immigrants to The Holocaust

I have to wonder where Maestas and Caballero went to school and what history books they read? So very sad………my goodness sakes! Awful! No wonder New Mexico is in last place.

FGGAM just received this news release from the NM House Republican Caucus:

House Republican Calls on Rep. Moe Maestas To Apologize For Invoking Holocaust During Debate

Today, House Republican Alonzo Baldonado called on Democrat lawmaker Antonio “Moe” Maestas to apologize for his heinous and extreme comments when he invoked the Holocaust in a debate. During a House committee hearing on the two-tier driver’s license compromise, Maestas said the legislation could result in people being put “in boxcars and take them somewhere that they don’t want to go.”

“It is never appropriate to invoke the Holocaust in an attempt to advance a political agenda,” Baldonado said. “What Representative Maestas said is unacceptable, and he should apologize immediately for his heinous remarks.”

Similarly, during debate last session House Democrat Patricia Roybal Caballero compared a bill that would have stopped giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants with the Holocaust.

ICYMI: Democrats Resort to Holocaust Comparisons as Drivers License Compromise Clears Committee

Santa Fe, NM — Today extreme comments came from Democrat Representative Moe Maestas, who compared the compromise bill on drivers licenses to the Holocaust, saying that it would lead to people being put “in boxcars and send[ing] them where they don’t want to go.”

New Mexico Lawmaker Invokes Holocaust in Trump Reference

The Associated Press
January 25, 2016

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) – A New Mexico Democratic lawmaker says GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump will put people “in boxcars and send them where they don’t want to go.”

Rep. Antonio Maestas made the Holocaust reference Monday during a heated New Mexico House committee meeting over a Republican proposal to place New Mexico in compliance under the federal REAL ID Act.

Maestas said some of the bill’s provisions, which Democrats say targets immigrants, were something “Trump would love.”
A Trump campaign spokesman did not immediately return an email.

The GOP proposal would end the state’s practice of granting driver’s licenses to immigrants in the country illegally. Instead, the plan would give those immigrants “driver’s permit cards.”

Last year, New Mexico Rep. Patricia Roybal Caballero compared the REAL ID Act to the Holocaust in a similar meeting.
