Israel preparing for possible battles with IS
Israel is reportedly making preparations for a future in which it finds itself in direct confrontation with the Islamic State (IS) terror militia. Those plans became more urgent over the weekend as a video surfaced titled “Kill them wherever you find them” and including an explicit threat from IS to “liberate Palestine” as well as targeting other Western countries. In related news, the IS franchise in the Sinai Peninsula issued a call Saturday for the Moslem Brotherhood to abandon its stance of “peaceful resistance” to the secular regime in Cairo and instead join IS in carrying out violent attacks against regime security forces and civilians. Meanwhile, US and European leaders announced over the weekend that they are increasing their commitments to the kinetic battle against IS in the Middle East, even as new franchises continue to announce their presence in other parts of the world.
