Hope For Those Who Forgive By Jeanne Theriault

Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you , your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
The true meaning of forgiveness is to let go of the past. When releasing forgiveness it gives you the opportunity to believe, to love, and to trust. You also need to forgive yourself.
Forgiveness will give you a peace of mind and have peace with others. Forgiveness is a gift from God. Past hurts won’t heal until you forgive and by forgiving you will be set free.
By not forgiving means that you feel justified what they did to you. It is God’s job to deal with the sins of others not ours. Our act of forgiveness is an act of humility. When you humble yourself to God He will lift you up. When you are obedient to his word He will honor you. You might have to keep taking the hurts back to God for awhile and say I give this to you Lord for I have forgiven them. Don’t allow yourself to hold on to bitterness or hostility cause in
Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.

Don’t hold on to grudges it will lead you to anger . Anger is the fuel from which grudges spring. A grudge is hatred in action it promote gossip and slander. A person who hold a grudge does not show love and forgiveness.
Proverbs 10:18 He who conceals his hatred has lying lips and whoever spreads slander is a fool. A grudge means you are not committing things to the judgment of God.
Romans 12:19 Do not take revenge my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath for it is written It is mine to avenge I will repay says the Lord.
You must have a forgiving Spirit and judgment must be committed to God.
Bearing unforgiveness will rob you of your happiness. You can pretend only so long before true feelings erupt. You need to rid yourselves from any past hurts, Esau did not hold unforgiveness against Jacob, Joseph did not hold unforgiveness against his brothers, Jesus did not hold unforgiveness against those who crucified him.
Ephesians 4:23 To be made new in the attitude of your minds 24 and to put on the new self created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
How is your attitude? You all should walk in true righteousness and holiness. Those who have experience God’s forgiveness are blessed with an everlasting joy, peace, that surpasses all understanding .
How does forgiveness work? There has to be a willingness it is having a spiritual and emotional maturity. Having the ability to forgive will help you heal, it will set you free. It is a decision to let go of all resentment, hurts, anger bitterness. You forgive by faith out of obedience. Forgiveness allows you to let go of the pain in the memory. Once you let go of the memory, though you still have the memory but you won’t let it control you of the past.
Philippians 3:12 Forgetting what is behind and standing toward what is ahead.
Colossians 3:12 Therefore as God’s chosen people holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievance you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
God’s power will transform you. Forgiveness is a challenging act of grace. It is possible if you allow God to work his miracle of mercy in and through you.
As you walk in total forgiveness and surrender all to Jesus, then you can enter into his Holy place, with a pure heart and filled with His love.
Ephesians 4:24 And to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and Holiness.
Hebrews 12:4 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy without holiness no one can see the Lord.
Make peace with your past so you can move forward, otherwise if you stay in your past you can’t move into your future. You need to learn to forgive the past so that you can move forward with your future. The Word of God says to forgive one another. Luke 6:37 Forgive and you will be forgiven. Don’t allow the shadow of your past stop you from going into your future.
Lord help me to let go of the past and to be able to forgive just as you forgave us. Fill me with your everlasting love. I will be obedient to your word and have love and compassion toward others, so that I can receive my healing. Keep my heart pure so that I can enter into your Holy place of your presence. Your Grace is sufficient enough for me. Thank you Lord
