Let this light your fire New Mexico! I am reading all about the excitement in New Mexico about a kick boxing match and a football game! I don’t know how we can glorify two women beating on each other so much so that one of the women had to be sent to the hospital?, Why do we glorify this? What does this say about our society? Posting pictures of a bloody faced women on Facebook and celebrating her defeat? Come on! Even the Attorney General of New Mexico was boasting of the bloodshed on his Facebook account! AWFUL! And he is to protect women?  Well, I have something way better than that, another Baptism in Reserve, New Mexico! I pray that lights your fire for God! Yesterday I was very blessed to baptize Ben Fletcher at the First Baptist Church in Reserve. I also understand there was another baptism in Catron County this weekend. I have known Ben for almost two years now and have seen how he has grown as a man of God!  As a Pastor one of, if not the biggest thrill I get, is in baptizing someone! I can get as excited as the next person about baseball and softball, but nothing compares to someone giving their life fully to the Lord, as Ben did yesterday. A boxing match and a football game, is gone the second it’s completed, eternal life should be our focus. Fruit continues from the Revival! This is the fourth baptism at the First Baptist Church in Reserve since the Revival in August! Now that’s a headline that should be plastered all over New Mexico media! An eternal matter. The Reserve area is on fire for the Lord, there is unity in our Lord Jesus Christ! It is so exciting to be a witness of this genuine faith.

Nothing matters at the end of our lives here on earth, except, did we live in the truth of God, did we spread the good news, did we stand with God.

I am pictured here with Ben, his Mom and Dad, Kate and Catron County Sheriff Ian Fletcher

Walls have come down, Denominations coming together, Pastors coming together for the well being of God’s people. Groups of different Churches meeting for Bible studies!  People caring, really caring about each other, this is what I have been witnessed to in the 2 years I have been traveling to Reserve, I am very thankful for all what the Lord has taught me in my service to the Catron County area.

This is how you defeat darkness, being salt and light, it’s more powerful than boxing, football and bombs.

Matthew 5:13-16New International Version (NIV)

Salt and Light

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Just one more note on Reserve, it is very exciting to see what is happening with the youth in the Catron County area, many are on fire for our Lord, like Ben Fletcher!  PTL!

From Adrian Rogers, Love Worth Finding Devotional:

Giving the Devil Plenty to Mourn About

BIBLE MEDITATION:
“Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised Him from the dead.” Colossians 2:12

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
People often ask me, “Why do Baptists immerse people—put them fully under the water—when a new convert to Christ is baptized?” Because that’s what God’s Word teaches. When you go under the water, that is a picture of your death and burial. When you come up out of the water, that is a picture of your resurrection. “Buried with Him.” “Risen with Him.”

If I died and you took me to the cemetery and sprinkled a few granules of dirt on my head, have you truly buried me? No. The very word “baptism” means to immerse.

ACTION POINT:
Your baptism is a funeral service: Dead to the old life. Raised to newness of life. And the devil doesn’t like that. The baptismal is a liquid tomb, and the mourner who comes to that funeral is the devil. Let’s be sure he has plenty to mourn about.
