France promises merciless battle against IS

French Air Force in action _Illustrative_French President François Hollande told lawmakers Monday evening that France will continue and intensify its airstrikes on the Islamic State (IS) terror militia in Syria in the coming weeks, adding that he hopes the US and Russia can put aside their differences for the sake of a “single coalition” to destroy the group. He added his thanks to the US for providing valuable intelligence for the air campaign against IS and added that he is suspending planned cuts to the defense budget in light of the current crisis.
