“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.3 For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. 4 He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. 5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. 6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. 7 Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. 8 Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. 9 If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, 10 no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. 11 For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. 12 They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. 13 You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!” (Psalms 91:1-13, NLT)
The verse of this passage that I was first led to was verse 2, but as I read the entire passage I felt to post this entirely. When you are on a journey it requires a lot of trust. When you travel to a place you’ve never been to you put a lot of trust in your vehicle to get you there and a lot of trust in your map or your GPS to lead you in the right direction. This spiritual journey we are all on requires us to put a lot of trust in the One who will lead us along the way.
As I’ve mentioned in earlier posts this week, we are all at a different place in our journey. You may be at a crossroad, a four way intersection, right now and it’s going to require a lot of trust and faith for you to go in the right direction. This is when it’s important for you to rely on your road map, The Bible, and your GPS, the Holy Spirit. They know which way you are to go in, you must continue forward in trust.
Trust means: confident expectation of something; hope. On your journey, you must have trust that God is leading you in the right direction. You must maintain confident expectation of something, you must have hope. If you have nothing to be in expectation of, if you have nothing to hope for, you will quickly die spiritually.
Trust isn’t always easy, but sometimes it’s all you’ve got. Trust, it’s a key in this journey you are on.
