isaiah 40-8“The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.” (Isaiah 40:8, NLT)

As you continue on this journey that you are on, part of trusting, part of faith is believing that God’s word stands forever. Everything else in your life may fade away, but God’s word stands.

I think it’s important that we have times in our lives when the grass withers and the flowers fade. As grass and flowers have a season in the natural, it’s the same in the spiritual. Sometimes when the grass is green and the flowers are bright we can’t see what’s beyond them, we stay in a comfortable place when God wants to call us to something bigger.

If you’re finding yourself in a place on your journey where is seems like everything has withered away, everything has faded, embrace it. God is removing some things so that you can see beyond what’s right in front of you. He wants to direct you to a new place in your spiritual walk where you will become even more successful and more fruitful.

It’s not easy moving from what’s familiar into something new but we will all face these times in our lives and its how we handle our journey that determines how quickly we become fruitful. Ecclesiastes 3:1, in the NLT says: “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” If you feel stuck in your journey, if you’re struggling with letting go of the past and stepping into the now, consider that maybe you are moving from one time and season into another.

As we journey through life every circumstance and situation molds us. Everything effects our character, either for good or for bad. God desires that even the bad, be used for good. Wherever you find yourself today, remind yourself that God’s word stands forever. Don’t forget the promises of God and His purpose for your life. Trust that He knows what He’s doing and He’s got you right where He wants you. Embrace the journey and keep moving on.
