The unbiblical illegal problem

The “president’s” refusal to secure the border and to enforce immigration laws is causing crime rates to soar, according to the federal government’s US Sentencing Commission. Breitbart reports that the US Sentencing Commission has released data indicating that while illegal immigrants account for about 3.5 percent of the US population, they represented 36.7 percent of federal sentences in FY 2014 following criminal convictions. Meanwhile, the Department of Health and Human Services, the anchor of socialist healthcare, is escorting 9 of 10, 90%, of illegal minors crossing the border to relatives or friends of family in the US, some of which may also be living in the country illegally.

According to FY 2014 USSC data, of 74,911 sentencing cases, citizens accounted for 43,479 (or 58.0%), illegal immigrants accounted for 27,505 (or 36.7%), legal immigrants made up 3,017 (or 4.0%), and the remainder (about 1%) were cases in which the offender was either extradited or had an unknown status. Illegal immigrants represented 16.8% of drug trafficking cases, 20.0% of kidnapping/hostage taking, 74.1% of drug possession, 12.3% of money laundering, and 12.0% of murder convictions. These statistics underscore that the alleged murder of a San Francisco woman by an illegal alien with a criminal record is no isolated incident, but exacerbated by government refusal to enforce immigration laws.

The Washington Post reported in August 2013 that Justice Department statistics indicate the cost of incarceration in the US was $80 billion in 2010. The US population increased by about a third since 1980, but the federal prison population has grown by about 800 percent. Interesting that these statistics track with 2009 criminal illegal aliens in federal prisons increasing 7 percent since 2005 and a 35 percent increase in state and local jails since 2003. GAO estimates that illegal aliens had an average of 7 arrests, primarily for immigration and drug offenses, costing $1.6 billion a year from 2005 through 2009 (latest statistics available).

Numbers 9:14 says, “You shall have one ordinance (statute), both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land.” While we seek to treat others as we would like to be treated, there is this matter of the law. If someone enters this country illegally, they are breaking the law. Their first act here is as a criminal, but it doesn’t stop there. There appears to be little regard of any law of the nation, including voting illegally. There is no “right” of citizenship. There is a legal path to becoming a citizen, which includes an oath to obey the laws. The problem, however, is not just illegal alien criminals, it is the politicians who are allowing two ordinances–one for the law abiding citizen and another for the illegal immigrant.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
