Albuquerque, NM- Members of Protest ABQ were attacked on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 while conducting a peaceful overpass protest. A woman and her son began verbally berating members of Protest ABQ and then the woman proceeded to take down the signs and then threw them from the overpass. The incident was captured on video. The woman also grabbed the phone that was recording the incident and then threw the it from the overpass!

Activists representing Protest ABQ were simply exercising their first amendment free speech rights, which apparently cannot be tolerated by rogue citizens of Albuquerque. This woman who claims to care so much about children is nonetheless willing to teach her son to hide the truth about what abortion does to children. Her son can even be heard on the video saying, “Look at that dead baby, somebody killed that…” but he follows the example of his mother and joins in the attack.

Albuquerque police were contacted but by the time they arrived the two perpetrators had fled the scene. Official complaints were filed, if anyone recognizes the woman or her son please contact Tara Shaver: tara@defendinglife.org.

Both the woman and her son were sporting local Sandia Preparatory School apparel.

Bud Shaver, Executive Director of Protest ABQ issued the following statement, “Protest ABQ conducts weekly overpass protests to peacefully expose the violence that abortion inflicts on pre-born children in the womb. It is not surprising that those who support and condone this barbaric act want to cover up their choice and violently lash out at those who are advocates for these defenseless children.” Shaver continued, “However, while there is currently no justice for the children unjustly sentenced to death, Protest ABQ will not overlook unjust assaults against members of our peaceful protests, but we will pursue every legal recourse available to us.”

The incident was captured on video:
