Canada Leads Group of Countries With Improved Ties With Israel

Where is America and Obama? Israelis were cheered on Tuesday by news that an expansion of the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement (CIFTA) had been finalized, which is expected to make a dramatic contribution to economic growth in both countries. “Israel is a priority market for Canada…an expanded and modernized free trade agreement will lead to a strengthened bilateral relationship as well as an increase in jobs and opportunities for Canadians and Israelis alike,” Canadian Prime Minister Stephan Harper said. There were also signs this week of improved relations between Israel and India, even as more traditional European allies appeared to be attempting to cash in on the ending of sanctions against Iran over its renegade nuclear program.
