A report by the Associated Press which was covered by local news channel KOB 4 titled, “Report: Abortions down in almost all states since 2010” is very encouraging and reveals that pro-life efforts are having a huge impact and saving thousands of lives! When Tara and I were interns for Operation Rescue one of the projects that we worked on was documenting the closure of abortion clinics all across the country. What our research revealed is that since 1991 over 75% of free-standing abortion clinics have CLOSED in America!

Tara Shaver, Senior Policy Advisor for Protest ABQ and Spokesperson for Pro-Life Witness stated, “When abortion clinics are shut down lives are saved. Also, states all across the nation are passing pro-life laws that are contributing to the decline in abortion numbers nationwide. In addition we have had a huge success ending abortion one woman, one child, one clinic, one day at a time. Faithful pro-life efforts each and every day are ending abortion all across our nation.”

According to LifeNews.com, “States Have Passed 231 Pro-Life Laws Stopping Abortions Since 2010.”

guttmacher13According to the report published by the Associated Press abortions have decreased in New Mexico by almost 24% since 2010…one of most significant deceases in abortion in the nation! New Mexico doesn’t have ANY  laws restricting abortion, in fact New Mexico is ranked #1 in the nation by the radical Pro-Aborts as having the freest access to abortion, New Mexico funds abortion 100% with our tax dollars and New Mexico has the largest late-term abortion clinic outside of communist China! Albuquerque is known nationally as the, Late-Term Abortion Capital of America.

So why have abortions dropped so drastically in New Mexico since 2010?

Well in 2010 Operation Rescue commissioned us to New Mexico. My wife, Tara and I moved here in 2010 as full-time pro-life missionaries. Tara has documented horrific abortion injuries and the fact that abortion clinics in New Mexico are never inspected by the New Mexico Department of Health. As more women are informed about how dangerous local abortion clinics are, they choose not to have abortions. Tara has also exposed the radical abortion agenda at the University of New Mexico. In fact UNM’s own free-standing abortion clinic was forced to relocate due to our public awareness efforts. We have worked tirelessly to expose the radical abortion cartel entrenched in this state. According to the New York Times, “Albuquerque Becomes Latest Focal Point in Abortion Wars.”

While our efforts to pass pro-life laws and ensure that local abortion clinics are properly inspected and held to same standard as say…PET STORES has been circumvented by corrupt pro-abort entities throughout the state, we have had great success reaching one woman, one child, one day at a time out at local abortion clinics!

In addition we have made a concentrated effort to educate and activate local Christians and pro-lifers. Numerous new pro-life ministries have been started and are actively involved in promoting a culture of life in New Mexico.

“The numbers show that even in political climates where abortion is unrestricted, large pro-life gains can still be made. Pro-life supporters should be encouraged that their work is paying off,” said Operation Rescue President, Troy Newman.

While all of us would like to see abortion ended immediately, the fact is, by taking small steps of faith each day, we are seeing the mountain of abortion beginning to crumble throughout the nation…and even here in New Mexico!

Tara and I are are full-time Pro-Life Missionaries and raise our own support from individuals who have a heart for our life saving work! Please consider becoming a partner with us in this life saving effort to help moms and their babies…and END abortion in New Mexico. Your financial support will keep us in the trenches and make it possible for us to continue our fight for LIFE!
