Kerry to Rejoin Iran Negotiations

US Secretary of State John Kerry appears to be healthy enough to participate in continued negotiations with Iran over its renegade nuclear program as a 30 June deadline for a final deal draws closer. “I will be traveling over there at the appropriate moment in the next days,” Kerry said, addressing reporters while holding himself up with the help of crutches. “I’m absolutely driving for the end of the month,” he added. “I think it’s critical for a lot of different reasons.” Also on Saturday, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani gave a fiery speech in which he flatly declared that “Iran will absolutely not allow its national secrets to fall into the hands of foreigners through the Additional Protocol or any other means.” The statement immediately produced a storm of debate in the blogosphere, with many commentators pointing to the comments as proof that Iran has a totally different understanding than the West about what is actually being negotiated.  Read More
