Legacy Church of Albuquerque, NM in conjunction with the Tim Tebow Foundation will sponsor a Night to Shine prom Friday, February 13 starting at 6 p.m. This event will be held specifically for teens and young adults who have special needs and will mirror other similar events being held nationwide.
Nearly 500 guests, caregivers, and volunteers are expected to participate. Guests have been given prom dresses, and suits and will also be treated to free hair and makeup services. Guests will also arrive by limousine rides and be greeted with a red carpet entrance, followed by dinner and a dance along with professional portraits.
The prom will take place at Legacy Church’s main location, 7201 Central Ave. NW. Pastor Steve Smothermon says, “This will be a very special night for all who attend and participate.” “We recently started a new program we call Refuge which is geared directly toward those with special needs which allows them and their families to attend a traditional church service which many of them have never been able to do before.” “The Night to Shine event and Legacy’s Refuge fit perfectly into our model of displaying God’s love to everyone in our community, regardless of their circumstances.”
