The Best Prediction of Future Behavior is Past Behavior

Dear Friends of our Lord Jesus Christ,  Yesterday I was talking to my Dear friend Sonja Haldeman of Surprise, Arizona, we were talking about many things including behavioral patterns. This is very powerful from Dr. Phil McGraw, “The best prediction of future behavior is past behavior” So very true! BUT! IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THAT WAY! AMEN! GOD can change our lives, GOD can rid us of bad habits, bad behavior, HE can stop us from making the same mistakes over and over! When we have Jesus Christ, we have a new life, the past is behind us. HE TRANSFORMS US! But we must be fully submerged in Jesus Christ. There are so many people walking around thinking they know Jesus Christ, but they do not! Break that cycle of bad behavior, or bad habits, or whatever you want to label it. Give your life to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 12:2 teaches us: Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:1-3 Living Sacrifices
1Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. 3For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.…

Here’s the deal……..some get in a cycle of doing the same stupid things over and over, as Forest Gump said, “Stupid is as Stupid does”

We have become so sensitive in this country of being called out for bad behavior…….but Pastor Lito Lavalle, former hard core gang member and drug user,  in his message on our radio program was very bold in calling out bad behavior and encouraging people to get with Jesus! Amen!

Pastor Lito said, “Many people think they know Jesus Christ, but they don’t they pretend they do.”

Back where I am from we used to call a spade a spade. Calling it the way it is! My Daddy was so good at that!!! LOL! So was my Grandpa and all those around me growing up, I am the man I am today because of my roots in Jesus Christ. Yes, I have made bad mistakes in my life, but as I get older I get stronger in our Lord. I pray it does not take you as long as me!

As Pastor Lito said…people are making millions off of bad behavior, counselors, pharmacies,  the prison system…when it is Jesus Christ that can solve all, if only people will turn their life over to Him.

Ephesians 4: 22-24 teaches us….To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Then when you turn you life over to our Lord Jesus Christ you need to surround yourself with a strong Christian accountability group that will help you stay on the right road! Amen!

When people are baptized, we the Body of Christ, then must help “RAISE THEM UP” in the ways of Jesus Christ. So many are concerned about the amount of baptisms…..they keep track of numbers, they brag about numbers, it’s not a numbers game for heavens sakes! It’s about individual lives and helping them in their daily walk with Jesus Christ, Amen!

People are not a number.

Just one more thing on behavior…….I know that people generally do not like accountability,  but I have found that if I am not accountable to God, my wife, family and friends I am a failure.

Today I come to you and ask for prayer for Jim Hofflander in Mankato, Minnesota. Jim fell right before Christmas and is in a nursing home recovering. He was on the floor of his apartment for about 9 hours before he was found and spent time in ther ICU. He is waiting to be able to move into an assisted living center. Please keep Jim in your prayers.

Today I include a picture of my friend Pastor Richard Gordon. This picture was taken this past summer after Richard and I presided over a marriage at Old Town in Albuquerque. I bring Pastor Richard and his wife-to-be,  Jo to you this morning. Please pray for this Godly couple as they prepare to marry in May! Amen! Dewey and Ricky

Thank you Pastor Lito for giving me more coldness in Jesus Christ. I had a man pray over me at Rock Rio Church…and he prayed that I have more boldness than PAUL! That blew me away that a man I had never met would pray that over me! I am still listening to the Lord. I do know this, I am going to be more bold, Pastor Lito delivered that to me Amen!

I pray today that you and me our obedient to God and His ways!

One last thing, the radio program with Pastor Lito has had more listens than any program we have ever posted on our website in the 2 1/2 years of ministry. If you have not listened please do…………please share it with everyone you know, PLEASE! and THANK YOU! We are here to serve, Showing the light of Jesus Christ to one person at a time. Amen!
