FGGAM News just received this press release from Make-A-Wish New Mexico:

ALBUQUERQUE – (December 19, 2014) – It’s a celebration of hope! In 2004, Legacy Church began donating to Make-A-Wish® New Mexico during the holiday season, their “Christmas gift to the community.” As 2014 comes to a close, Legacy has donated nearly three quarters of a million dollars to the local organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. The amount represents a total of 125 wishes. Legacy Church has once again been recognized by Make-A-Wish® America CEO David Williams as the most generous church to any Make-A-Wish chapter in the United States. The community is invited to help celebrate this momentous occasion with check presentations to Make-A-Wish New Mexico staff, board, and families at Legacy’s “Christmas Hope” services. Service times are as follows:

Monday Dec. 22nd 3pm and 6pm Central Campus, 7201 Central Ave. NW

Tuesday Dec. 23rd 3pm and 6pm East Campus, 4701 Wyoming Blvd. NE

Wednesday Dec. 24th 3pm and 6pm Central Campus, 7201 Central Ave. NW

Sunny was diagnosed with bone cancer at the age of 7 and was the first official recipient of a Legacy-sponsored wish 11 years ago. She shares, “I want to say thank you to Legacy Church for giving my family hope and letting us have an experience that we’ll never forget through Make-A-Wish, but also becoming our home and family that we now can turn to all the time.”

The impact of Legacy Church’s donations has been far-reaching, including children in Albuquerque and throughout the State. The Christmas gift this year is for $108, 254.81 which will sponsor 18 wishes. These wishes include many trips to Disney World, a sweet sixteen party, a chance to meet the New York Giants, and a shopping spree.

Bob Biggers, President and CEO of the New Mexico chapter has said, “The gift of a single wish can be a life altering event. When you multiply this by 18 wishes this year and 125 over 11 years, it becomes a truly transformational gift. These children and their families will know they are loved at perhaps the most challenging times of their lives.”
