Joy

Via DolorosaHebrews 12:2 looking (fixing one’s eyes trustingly) unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Ron and I take communion almost every day. Ron calls it “common union”, which I love! We are one with Him.

John 14:20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

As we were taking communion, I thought ‘I don’t know how You did it, Lord.’ Still, small voice “I was looking at you.” And I thought ‘Lord, it must have been so hard.’  Still, small voice “You were worth it.”

It’s hard to imagine being the joy set before Him. I know me and what I have done and been, yet He knows all that and up to the day I go to join Him and He still tells me I am of great value. I am His.

The picture above is of the Via Dolorosa or the route Jesus walked from Pilate’s judgment hall to Calvary. It is very steep and my Beloved had already been brutalized  yet He looked at you and me and He kept going because He said we were worth it.

Via Dolorosa also means: a painfully difficult course or experience. Our Lord knew what He would suffer. He also knew it was the only way that we could be reconciled to Him.

Every person is of great value whether they are good or bad, kind or mean, gentle or vicious. Jesus died for all mankind. He wants us to be His, yet He lets us decide the relationship. Every person deserves the privilege to accept Christ Jesus or not.

In the years since I have chosen the Lord, I have watched others choose Him and sadly, watched others reject Him. His heart is for all to come to Him. He doesn’t want anyone to perish, but have everlasting life! I remind myself of this when I have an extremely rude customer or a boss that isn’t very nice. I think on this in the airport as I look around and wonder how many people would be left if Jesus came back at that moment. People need Jesus. How can they know they need Him if they have never heard of Him?

Today, I want to encourage you to think on our Lord and the value He places on each human being. As you go about your day, let Him be your joy. I pray for you that others see Him in you as you are out and about. You are blessed! Have a glorious day in Him!

Joy to the world, the Lord is come………………………<3
