Noon Day Ministries: There is a New Rock in Albuquerque!

Noon Day 2THERE IS A NEW ROCK IN ALBUQUERQUE

FGGAM is so so excited in what the Lord is doing at Noon Day Ministries! WOW! We are longtime friends of Director Danny Whatley, who, Lord willing will be with us on ‘The World We Live In’ this Monday at 12:05pm mt. on KDAZ AM730. You can also listen live from right here on our website by clicking on the KDAZ banner.  Noon Day Ministries, a long time landmark in downtown Albuquerque, is in the process of building a new 15,500 square foot facility at 2400 Second Street NW. The new facility was designed by Joe Simons of Simons Architecture to meet the needs of the homeless and needy in our community. PJ Construction is currently constructing the facility which is scheduled for a November 15 grand opening.

Currently located at 101 Broadway, the move was necessitated by the sale of the former First Baptist Church of Albuquerque property to the University of New Mexico (UNM). Since 1982, Noon Day Ministries has provided services to the Albuquerque community. Founded on providing meals for the homeless, the nonprofit organization continues to provide over 100,000 meals annually. During this time of transition, UNM has been very supportive of the day-to-day operations of Noon Day.

In conjunction with the new facility, the ministry is undergoing a rebranding and will be known as The Rock at Noon Day. At the new facility, services provided will include meals, clothing, showers, laundry, health care, legal assistance, and other services as have been provided for the past 32 years.

The Rock at Noon Day is seeking donations to support ongoing operations as well as the construction of the new facility. Volunteers are always welcome to assist in the various services provided. To donate or inquire about volunteer opportunities, please call (505) 246-8001, or visit noondayministries.org, or therockabq.org. For more information about The Rock at Noon Day, please contact Danny Whatley at danwhatley@aol.com.

Let us be in prayer for the homeless, this touches my heart closer than you may know,  and for the wonderful ministries like The Rock at Noon Day and the Godly people like Danny and his staff.
