Pondering

As I was looking at Gabi’s eyelashes, which are very long, thick and dark, a thought came to me and I spoke it to her. “Aren’t you glad the Lord didn’t make eyelashes to grow as long as the hair on our heads?”  All three of us busted out laughing and Ron said, “Yeah, or like my beard!”

We like to sit around and talk of the things of God together. It is one of our favorite things to do. In Deuteronomy 11:19, Moses says, “You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”

I realize he was talking about the Law here, but Jesus fulfilled the Law, (Romans 8:4) so sharing all the things of God is applicable here.  All the things of God…..to include how wonderfully He made our bodies and all creation! How marvelous are the works of the living God! He is so cool!

We discuss such things as:

1) We have all these holes in us (pores), yet when we get in the shower we don’t puff up like a sponge, yet sweat comes out of those same holes.

2) The lakes, rivers and streams freeze, yet the fish don’t.

3) Why doesn’t the grass keep growing to the sky? Trees, too.

4) How we are born with no teeth, have baby teeth which come out as we grow and get big teeth, then some of us end up with no teeth again as we age. Imagine a baby born with big teeth! Ha ha!

We take long walks in the woods where my family leaves me in the dust because I pause to take pictures of all the cool things I see in there! I once took a picture of a dead tree that had fallen over so that it looked like some big animal skeleton. I have scads of pictures of mushrooms, moss, leaves, clouds, trees, flowers……..the Lord is so amazing!

We talk about spiritual struggles we are having and encourage each other and pray together. We talk about what it means to be in Christ and  how to be in the world but not of the world. We share things the Lord has spoken to us and the revelations He gives us. We even know each other’s favorite scriptures.

Many times in the book of Psalms, you will see a word, “Selah”. This means: to ponder, to think on, to meditate on. Anything the Lord has done is worth pondering. Our mighty Father has done good things and He likes it when we think on them and Him.

When I think on the Lord Jesus, I think of all He has done for me, just so He could be with me forever. When He took all my sin, when He was hated and rejected and His beard pulled out, spit upon, hit, cursed……He was doing it for me….and you. We were the joy set before Him.

One night, Ron had a dream. It was a God dream. He was in heaven and there were millions of people everywhere as far as the eye could see. Jesus was sitting on His throne. (Ron was thinking of me that day and the changes the Lord has done in me.) In the dream, Jesus stood, and everyone stopped and was quiet. He walked to Ron and whispered in his ear, “She was worth it.”

Everything He had gone through was for me and you. All the pain and the hatred and the mocking. He was crucified like a common criminal. The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, our Champion, gave Himself because He loves us and it was the only way we could be together throughout eternity when we receive Him as Lord and Savior. Thank You, Jesus. O my King, thank You!

Today, right now, I want you to hear what Jesus is saying to you, “You were worth it. I love you.”

Selah.
