As we have posted of late, the news came out that New Mexico leads the nation in alcohol related deaths. “New Mexico has very much struggled with alcohol” says Laura Tomedi, an alcohol epidemiologist for the New Mexico Department of Health, told the Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper. Tomedi continued, “We’ve led the nation since 1997. We have the highest alcohol related death rate, and we lead the pack by a pretty fair margin.”
Come on New Mexico! We are better than this! We are losing people to drunkenness!
