(Washington, DC) — America’s population is going to get a bit grayer in the next 40 years. The U.S. Census Bureau is expecting the number of Americans over age 65 to rise to 83-million by 2050. That will almost double the number of older U.S. residents today. The increase in elderly Americans will have a significant impact on the U.S. healthcare and retirement systems. 20 percent of the American population will be age 65 or older by 2015.
