Israel’s Borders Under Constant Threat

An Israeli military vehicle on a routine patrol along the border with Syria was hit by an improvised explosive device on Tuesday, wounding three soldiers and prompting a heightened state of alert. The attack came hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the sixth annual Negev Conference in Sderot near the border with the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, touting progress towards securing the area from rocket attacks. “There will not be a drizzle of rocket fire,” he declared. “Every rocket will be responded to immediately and with force.” During his address he also pointed out government investments in transportation and other infrastructure in the area, despite the threat of terrorism from the Strip. Read More
