(Washington, DC) — A congressman who supports Bitcoin is seeking a ban on dollar bills. Representative Jared Polis of Colorado posted the satirical suggestion Wednesday on his official website in response to West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin’s call last week for a ban on Bitcoin. Polis mocked Manchin’s letter to federal regulators with a similar one, which replaces “bitcoins” with “U.S. dollar bills.” Polis argued that bitcoins and other digital currencies don’t have any more problems than dollars have.
