I hope to encourage you today with this passage to grow strong in your faith.  Abraham is a great example of faith and if we look at this passage we can see this faith in action.

Some key parts to this passage that stick out to me are in verse 17; “The God who gives life to the dead and calls things that don’t exist into existence.” Maybe you’re reading this today and you have some things in your life that seem dead.  Some desires, some needs, or some promises from God.  I want to encourage you that we serve a God who gives life to the dead and calls things that don’t exist into existence.  When it was beyond hope for Abraham, he had faith in the hope that he would become the father of many nations, in keeping with the promise God spoke to him.

What pushed Abraham to keep his faith was the fact that it was a promise God spoke to him.  The Scripture says his body was as good as dead and Sarah’s womb was dead, it was beyond hope, but…..he had a promise from God.  He didn’t hesitate with a lack of faith in God’s promise, but he grew strong in faith and gave glory to God.  He was fully convinced that God was able to do what he promised.

So, do you have a promise from God and all of the circumstances around it seem dead?  Is it beyond hope?  Grow strong in faith knowing that it’s a promise from God and he’s expert at giving life to the dead and calling things that don’t exist into existence!
