Gas Pump Warning – Refueling Your Car Causes GLOBAL WARMING

Cigarette Warning – I Got It – No Issue!CIGARETTE WARNING

Gasoline Causes Global Warming – I’m Not Quite Yet There!

Environmentalists in San Francisco want to remind drivers that refilling their cars with gas is leading to global warming by slapping a sticker on gas pumps similar to those you find on a carton or pack of cigarettes according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

“The goal isn’t to take transportation away from people and say, ‘You’re a bad person,'” Jamie Brooks, a member of the Bay Area chapter of 350.org, told the paper. “The goal is to create a signal saying, ‘You need to change you behavior.'” 350.org is a group that seeks to build a global grassroots movement to “solve the climate crisis,” according to its webpage, and the group made it clear that the warning label fight is solely an initiative by the Bay Area branch.

The label’s design is straightforward. It has white on black writing topped off with “Warning” in bold on an orange background that reads: “The state of California has determined that global warming caused by greenhouse gases poses a serious threat to the economic well-being, public health, natural resources and the environment of California.”

REALLY ? – The intent is good I suppose, but I have to question it’s real necessity when we already have warning labels all over gas pumps across America that nobody reads! – I’ll leave that as my sole comment as the writer !

Obviously, gas station owners and oil companies would likely fight a ruling in favor of the warning labels.

Now, as a new subject, I do have a warning which WILL result in your safety. Following my military career, I managed multiple convenience stores for roughly 16 years. There should be a warning label on each gas pump that few read or pay attention to but I encourage each and every one of my readers to pay attention to the next time you pull up to fill up. These labels cover such items as using electronic devices while fueling, getting in and out of your car while fueling, smoking, etc.

Many feel it isn’t an issue. PLEASE TRUST ME, IT IS! I have personally watched in one incident 5 gas pumps and 3 cars go up in flames along with 4 people being sent to the hospital for extreme burns. That’s because someone wanted to send a text message while filling their car up. Not even a phone call, simply a text message. I’ve seen others as well, such as, it’s too cold and got in my car, got out and the static electricity came in contact with the gas fumes coming out of the tank when removing the pump handle – BOOM!

Those warnings are serious folks and I beg you, for your safety, pay attention to them!
