Plane Crash in Los Alamos, NM Claims Two Lives

KLGA-Algona Radio in Iowa has reported that a north-central Iowa man died in Sunday’s plane crash near the Los Alamos County Airport.

According to the report, family members confirmed that 52-year-old Kevin Burrs of Corwith, Iowa was a passenger in the small plane.

Burrs and the pilot, Mike Fjetland of Harmony, Minn., left the Algona Airport in Iowa last week on a vacation.

Fjetland also died in the crash, according to news reports.

National Transportation Safety Board investigators are on scene today looking for evidence.

Let us be in prayer over this news as reported by the Los Alamos, New Mexico Monitor, that a plane crashed in a canyon on Los Alamos Lab property about a mile south of the Los Alamos, New Mexico airport killing one person. There may be more victims as the plane was completely destroyed on fiery impact. Investigators remain on the scene. This tragic crash occurred Sunday morning. It’s not known at this time whether other passengers were on board, or if the plane was landing or taking off. The single-engine Aviat Husky crashed into the rugged terrain on Canyon Rim Trail.
