USS Dewey Makes Dying Sailor’s Dream Come True

budcloudUSS Dewey “opened their ship and their hearts and quite literally made a dream come true for a dying Sailor.” After signing my Pop, EM2 Bud Cloud (circa Pearl Harbor) up for hospice care, the consolation prize I’d given him (for agreeing it was OK to die) was a trip to “visit the Navy in San Diego.” ow.ly/qNaJA

  1. NO honor bigger than being ‘piped’ ashore; normally reserved for the ship’s captain or high ranking dignitaries. It’s not a ceremony that many realize the importance or distinction of. I can’t begin to imagine the joy he experienced when they made that happen for him!!!
    That’s the United States Navy I remember!!!
