New Mexico has passed Nebraska to stand alone in first place in the U.S. Drought derby with 82 percent of the state in EXTREME drought or worse according to the weekly Federal Drought Monitor.

No part of the state has been untouched. On the state’s Eastern side, dryland wheat farmers and cattle ranchers have been hit hard. Farmers on the lower Pecos River are facing scarce water supplies.

Elephant Butte Reservoir on the Rio Grande, for the first time in it’s 98 year history, did not have enough water to release to southern New Mexico farmers in April.

Here is a report from FGGAM supporter Dwight Brown who lives in southern Colorado and he just visited the Chama, NM area……..

We took a ride over to Chama the other day and went out to Heron Lake, it is so
low that the boat landing by the campground is nothing but mud at the bottom no
water, we also went to El Vado Lake and it is way down. Looks like it will be a
dry summer.

I have called for the last 3 years for the Governor and Christian leaders to pray everyday at Noon for rain. We must repent for our sins, Albuquerque is the abortion capital of the nation. This movement of same-sex marriage is sin. Many are going to call me a radical, that is okay I am a radical for Jesus Christ.

Years ago when Evangelist  Kyle Martin of Time To Revive came to Santa Fe to hold a revival, the area was in the midst of a drought and it rained during the revival.

We cannot keep sinning .

You would think with the severity of the drought and already we are having wildfires and some villages in the state reporting they are running out of water, it would get the attention of people.

We must seek God for forgiveness and give our state back to Him. When we do the rains will come.

The prescription to end this Drought is God.

James 5:18

Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.

Leviticus 26:4

Then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Zechariah 10:1

Ask rain from the Lord in the season of the spring rain, from the Lord who makes the storm clouds, and he will give them showers of rain, to everyone the vegetation in the field.

1 Kings 8:35

“When heaven is shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against you, if they pray toward this place and acknowledge your name and turn from their sin, when you afflict them,

Here is an update from KOB TV on Fire Conditions:

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – Fire danger is high across New Mexico, and state officials are planning to impose restrictions for all 33 counties.

The restrictions will take effect next Wednesday at 8 a.m. They will prohibit the use of fireworks, campfires and other open fires. Smoking will only be allowed in buildings, on paved surfaces or in vehicles with ashtrays.

Officials say the restrictions will apply on all non-municipal, non-federal and non-tribal lands in New Mexico and will remain in effect until rescinded.

New Mexico is coming off back-to-back record-setting fire seasons.

This year, more than 80 percent of the state is grappling with drought conditions that are considered extreme or worse. Soil moisture is nonexistent following a dismal snowpack and spring started off dry and windy.

State Forester Tony Delfin says new fire starts are becoming difficult to control.
