KRQE is reporting that UNM police have evacuated the Dental Residency Center and put the nearby UNM Child Care Center under a shelter in place after a suspicious package was found.
Details of the type of package are not available.
The package was reported to police at 10:23 a.m., authorities have told KRQE News 13.
Both UNM and Albuquerque police are on the scene.
Camino de Salud NE is closed east of Lomas Boulevard. The dental center is part of a Health Sciences Center complex east of Lomas and south of Indian School Road..
An alert sent to UNM students and others and posted on the UNM website shortly after 11 a.m. is telling people to avoid the area.
