Let us pray this happens all over the United States of America. North Dakota’s Republican Gov. Jack Dalrymple signed a bill outlawing abortions after 20 weeks Tuesday. Its based on research stating that’s the point a fetus can feel pain.

The law is among the latest of a group of measures passed in North Dakota meant to challenge the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe vs. Wade ruling. That decision legalized abortion up until viability which is usually 22 to 24 weeks.

Last month the governor signed a law banning abortions as early as six weeks or when a fetal heartbeat is detected making North Dakota the most restrictive state in the US to get an abortion.

“Although the likelihood of this measure surviving a court challenge remains in question, this bill is nevertheless a legitimate attempt by a state legislature to discover the boundaries of Roe v. Wade,” said Dalrymple.

Ten states have passed similar bills banning abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, but researchers are on the fence about the theory.
